I'm not quite sure where or how I should start explaining today....
Sarah, Mythri, Peri and I spontaneously decided to go to Dover. I wasn't planning on going out at all this weekend because of my history paper, but I finished it last night (yay go me).
We took a two hour bus to Dover and walked for hours!
Dover is pretty old. It's very quiet and there were very few people in that town... and most restaurants/cafes were either out of service or shut down super early - around 5pm.
Anyways, I'd been chanting "WHITE CLIFFS WHITE CLIFFS" because I really wanted to see them. And as Mythri promised me, we did see them. The walk was pretty... brutal. Our boots were covered in mud and the wind physically knocked us to the ground LOL but it was so worth it because I got to see my WHITE CLIFFS :)
Here we goooooo
This was not even the beginning of the climb up the White Cliffs
Already struggling.....
But after many steep stairs and much endurance and perseverance, we made it... halfway there!
Just kidding... after about half a mile, we were actually (and finally) HALFWAY THERE!
jumpin for joy !!
It was breathtaking.... but we had to continue moving.
So through the mud, we hurried along to the end of the cliffs (a 4 mile walk)
But another quick stop because of the gorgeous rainbow!
Turned around to see how much we walked up until this point..
Just a quick selfie to document the intensity of the wind.
Oy, the struggle was as real as the scenery was beautiful
FINALLY, WE MADE IT!! (the lighthouse is peepin' in da back)
WHITE CLIFFS!! The whitest of the whites.
After taking multiple pictures and taking a few last looks at the scenery, it was time to head back down.
(LOVE the green grass with the blue sky)
The wind literally knocked us to the ground.
We couldn't move or breathe or do anything. LOL so we just selfied - struggling so hard...
taking one last good look at dem white cliffs. good bai
Once we got back down, Sarah and I thought we deserved a nice little tea party.
... and some chocolate for my soul. Bought these babies for 2 pounds :D
Kinder is a German chocolate brand and the ones in this picture taste exactly like Ferrero Rocher w/out nuts!!
Even though I don't really like/eat sausages, I thought I should have at least one british meal. So... bangers and mash for dinner!
Today's thoughts:
- God is... powerful
- Today's wind was the strongest I've ever experienced in my life.
- I'm getting good at this hiking thing....
- I need to be more patient and I also need to be more loving with my words and actions
- I think today might've been the first time I've ever denied dessert..........
That's it for today! Hope you guys are enjoying these blogs :) <3
xx
