Today was pretty eventful yet tiring. It involved a lot of walking so my legs are dead... but I finally got to see and visit famous London places. After orientation, a few of us decided to take the Tube to Westminster.
When we got off, we walked right onto the Westminster Bridge from which we saw:
The Parliament
Big Ben
London Eye
AND the church where Kate & William got married:
And then we finally made it!
The Buckingham Palace:
(I wish there were guards outside the gate so we could selfie with them, but unfortunately there were guards only inside the gate).
Afterwards, we walked to Hyde Park and then finally trekked all the way back to our dorm. This took us about 2.5 hours. I cooked some pasta (again, sigh) for a really late lunch and chilled until around 6:30pm, when some of the people in our dorm and I headed over to the bar in Imperial College to eat dinner have drinks.
Today's thoughts:
- London is really expensive and I'm getting poorer by the minute (this will be on my mind 24/7)
- I still don't know how to cross the street
- British people are polite but not easy to befriend
- The meat for cheeseburgers tastes different from that of American cheeseburgers/burgers
- I'm nervous for my internship placement interview x3
- British people give you change in literally all coins - dollar coins. They don't give change with paper money which I find rather annoying
- It's rained everyday I've been here, so far (2 days), and I think it will rain everyday...
- Lots of sale at the grocery store - me likey
- Apples are more expensive than clementines here
- Apples are really tiny here
- Portions are just really small in general
- Aspall Cider is delicious
- I learned that Activia yogurt is to help you poop. Oops
- Not everyone likes to drink
- I've met some pretty cool people/friends :)
