Of all the days I've been here so far, today is definitely my favorite.
I finally got to sleep in because there was no planned schedule - it felt so good.
I lazily got up around 11am, ate and then relaxed in my room until about 1:30pm. Then, I went to Sainsbury (the grocery store) to get some groceries. Around 4pm I met up with my friend to Caffé Nero to have some downtime and to catch up (did y'all know that there are two different costs for "out" and "in" AKA to go and for here ?!).
Around 6pm we headed out to go to Big Ben/London Eye because I really wanted to check it out at night. It was simply marvelous!
After taking multiple pics and such we walked over to the Waterloo (?) Bridge.
Definitely my favorite bridge in London!
When we got to the other side of the bridge, we heard a street singer with a beautiful soul-y voice so we went to see who it was. It was a small asian guy with the best voice I've ever heard (despite his accent...)
I wanted to stay longer but I didn't want to seem too creepy :C
It took us about 10 people, 1+ hours, and iMap to find Ben's Cookies that our friends recommended us. We walked passed some cool places such as The National Gallery, some water fountains, the blue rooster, the Korean Cultural Centre UK, Chinatown, Korean restaurants, a public pee stop and more to finally get there.
These cookies were worth the (almost) hour of walking... so much better than Insomnia Cookies!!
Overall, it was a great day spent with Seyoung. Even though we lived together last year we didn't really hang out for reasons. But after three years, we got to really know each other during the few hours spent walking around in London. :) As I told her, I think God sent both of us to London to finally spend time together by encouraging and loving each other (ok no more mushy gushy stuff). We got to discover new parts of London, eat delicious cookies and eat McDonalds for dinner. I'd say that's a pretty good day!
Today's thoughts
- Money is such a limiting factor. It sucks
- I still can't believe the subway here is $10 for one ride/one way(yes, US dollars)
- How can I save money
- How can I save money
- How can I save money but also have fun and eat
- This city is beautiful and I am falling more and more in love with it
Good night
xx
