Hi you. yes you. youwho? yoohoo!
My core class today was at THE WIMBLEDON (not the National Portrait Gallery, oops).
For those who do not know/never heard of Wimbledon, according to Wikipedia, "The Wimbledon Championships or simply Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and widely considered the most prestigious." It is also a very exclusive country club of 500 members who have been selectively invited to join. They make so much money from the championships that they don't even need sponsors (well, except the one and only Rolex, who have been their sponsor for the longest time). So if you go to the courts, there are no ads/sponsorships. Super classy.
The Wimbledon café
Yay!
There once was a game on this court that broke the record for longest game ever played: 11 hours, totaling 3 days!
There were also BBC Sports, Fox News, and multiple other sports channels.
That's my professor in the press conference room!
Wimbledon's Sponsor. All the clocks in this country club are Rolex. So awesome. Wish I had me one of those.
THE CENTRE COURT!!!!!!
Then, we checked out their Wimbledon Museum which was pretty cool.
Female players' outfits from years ago. Totes cute!
Afterwards, we headed towards back to the city area and decided to stop by "Original Fish and Chips Co." to get nothing other than dem FISH N CHIPS!
And on the way back to Kensington, I got to ride in a double decker for the first time! It was exciting.
Then I came home and knocked out....
And then, I wanted to get some fresh breathe of air so I left my room and went to Caffé Nero to journal and relax. I sat down next to two people and unintentionally overheard them talking. An older english gentlemen was sharing the gospel and praying with a seemingly Chinese student. I was so encouraged by that and wanted to talk to them but they rushed off a few minutes after I got there. But it was awesome to be a witness of present day evangelism in a city such as London where 8% of the population practice religion (muslim being the majority). There's still hope. There's still work to be done in this city, so pls continue to pray!
One last news: My friends and I booked our flight for VENICE, ITALY for spring break '14. Yay!
Still need to book: Paris (and hopefully Spain?)
Current status: Runny nose/feeling sicker - n o b u e n o
