The streets are very narrow in London, which automatically made me assume that this city was small, just like Boston. But I finally realized today that it is actually a massive city.
Btw, did I tell you that I love the architecture here? The buildings here reflect the perfect juxtaposition of old and modern styles, neutral and vibrant colors, simple and complex designs.
Today, my friends I discovered another new part of London. First, we went to the Tate Modern Museum. The great thing about London is that there is so many things to do for free, including most museums! Tate reminded me of New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Some of my favorite pieces of art include:
(because it reminded me of california)
(because... LIGHTS AND COLOR!)
(because... the mirror on the wall was an art piece)
(because the artist placed bags of paint behind the white canvas and shot them with a gun)
(because this mirror is a compilation of 6 different pieces of glass)
(because I am fascinated by lights. Also, this reminded me of the Empire State Building)
(because, neutrals.)
(because the bush in the back makes it look like she's wearing a hat)
(home meets home away from home)
(because this is the best rock decor i've ever seen)
But art isn't the only thing I saw today. I also did a little bit of people watching while standing on the balcony on the second floor of the museum:
Everything was simply breathtaking today. The profound art pieces, the personable meanings behind them, beautiful details of St. Paul's Cathedral, the perfect blue sky that made the walk across the Millennium Bridge feel like heaven, and the lights that shined brightly across this city.
Today's thoughts:
- God is the greatest artist
- Food really suckz in London
- Fascinated by asians that speak in british accents
- Wow, I don't really have any significant insights I can share on my blog today
- Started watching Sherlock Holmes - the tv show
- Excited for church tomorrow !!
